• Sage X3 Programme Lead • Near Reading, Berkshire • Interim Assignment Job Title: Programme Lead - Sage X3 (Technical Delivery) Role Overview We are seeking a technically strong Programme Lead to take ownership of the technical delivery of a Sage X3 ERP implementation. This role will lead the systems, data, integration, and technical workstreams, ensuring the platform is architected, configured, integrated, and deployed in line with business and finance transformation objectives. A separate Finance Workstream Lead is in place, so this role focuses on technology delivery, environments, data, integrations, and system integrity rather than functional finance design. Key ResponsibilitiesERP Technical Programme Leadership • Lead the technical delivery of the Sage X3 implementation across all phases: design, build, integration, testing, cutover, and stabilisation • Own the overall technical roadmap, environments strategy, and deployment approach • Ensure alignment between functional design and system architecture Systems Architecture & Integrations • Define and oversee the end-to-end systems architecture surrounding Sage X3 • Lead design and delivery of integrations between Sage X3 and peripheral systems (CRM, payroll, procurement platforms, data warehouse, banking interfaces, etc.) • Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of the ERP ecosystem Data Migration & Data Architecture • Own the data migration strategy, tooling, governance, and reconciliation approach • Oversee legacy data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and load cycles • Ensure robust data validation and post-migration controls Environments, Security & Controls • Define and manage environment strategy (Dev, Test, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod) • Oversee role design, access controls, and security model in collaboration with IT security teams • Ensure compliance with internal IT governance and audit requirements Testing & Technical Assurance • Lead SIT, integration testing, performance testing, and technical UAT readiness • Ensure defects, configuration gaps, and integration issues are triaged and resolved effectively • Provide technical assurance to the Programme Board on solution readiness Third-Party & Vendor Management • Manage the system integrator and Sage X3 partners from a technical delivery perspective • Challenge solution design where necessary to ensure best practice and long-term maintainability • Ensure documentation, knowledge transfer, and support models are in place Cutover & Go-Live • Own technical cutover planning, including data loads, integrations switch-on, and environment readiness • Lead technical hypercare and transition into BAU support structures Key Skills & Experience • Proven experience leading the technical delivery of Sage X3 programmes • Deep understanding of Sage X3 architecture, integrations, and data migration • Experience working alongside functional finance leads in ERP transformation environments • Strong background in Programme Management, governance and controls • Experience defining environment strategies and release management • Strong vendor and system integrator management experience • Comfortable operating at Programme Board level while retaining technical depth Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion We believe that diverse teams drive innovation and success.
