Summary:
The Project Controls Coordinator I (Junior Cost Analyst & Document Controls Coordinator) provides essential support to the Interconnects team through cost tracking, budget administration, document control, and financial reporting. This entry-level position plays a key role in AFE management, invoice processing, cost reconciliation, and project/customer reporting while ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
This role is designed for early-career professionals seeking mentorship and career growth in cost analysis, project controls, and portfolio governance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Analysis & Financial Support (Interconnects)
β’ Assist with Approval for Expenditure (AFE) setup, maintenance, and tracking.
β’ Support invoice review, validation, and reconciliation against commitments.
β’ Participate in project cost reconciliation and variance identification.
β’ Prepare final project cost invoices for internal review.
β’ Support the creation of monthly and ad-hoc financial and customer-facing reports.
β’ Maintain cost tracking logs, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
β’ Provide analytical support to senior cost analysts and project controls staff.
1. Document Control & Records Management
β’ Support document control for project, financial, and governance documents, ensuring proper versioning, approvals, and storage.
β’ Maintain document registers, metadata, and review/approval cycles.
β’ Assist document owners and SMEs with updates, revisions, and publication.
β’ Support internal audits and compliance by organizing and retrieving documentation.
1. Reporting & Administrative Support
β’ Prepare and maintain Excel-based reports, trackers, and dashboards.
β’ Assist with month-end reporting cycles by gathering data from project and finance stakeholders.
β’ Coordinate information flow among project managers, finance, and governance teams.
β’ Perform general administrative and analytical tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
β’ Diploma or Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
β’ 0β3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-op, or entry-level experience accepted).
β’ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, report creation).
β’ High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and documentation.
β’ Ability to follow structured processes in a project-driven or regulated environment.
β’ Positive attitude with willingness to learn, adapt, and grow.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Exposure to project cost control, AFEs, invoice processing, or cost reconciliation.
β’ Experience supporting project or customer financial reporting.
