Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced GCP Project Lead with Data Solution Architecture expertise to design and deliver scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. This role emphasizes technical leadership, solution architecture, and code quality, while also providing onsite coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GCP data services, workflow orchestration, and data governance, with exposure to Azure and Power BI as added advantages.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership
Design end-to-end data architecture on GCP for analytics, governance, and orchestration.
Define best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and workflow orchestration.
Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and optimize performance.
Provide guidance on data security, data cataloguing, and governance frameworks.
GCP Expertise
Architect solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataplex Data Catalog, and Cloud Composer.
Architect Data Security using Row Level Security, Column Level Security and Table level access
Implement ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming and batch processing.
Integrate data governance policies and metadata management using Dataplex.
Onsite Coordination
Act as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders.
Collaborate with offshore teams for smooth delivery and issue resolution.
Support project planning and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
Technical Skills Required:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP):
BigQuery: Advanced SQL, performance tuning, partitioning, and optimization.
Dataflow: Streaming/batch pipelines using Apache Beam.
Cloud Composer: Workflow orchestration using Airflow.
Dataplex: Data governance, cataloging, and security policies.
Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and integration patterns.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with Airflow DAGs.
Knowledge of IAM, and security best practices on GCP.
Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
Added Advantage:
Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse).
Experience:
10–15 years of IT experience with 5+ years in data engineering and architecture.
2+ years of hands-on GCP experience across BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataplex, and Composer.
Proven track record in solution design, code reviews, and technical governance.
Experience in leading onsite engagements and managing distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
GCP Professional Data Engineer or Architect certification.
Exposure to data governance frameworks and metadata management.
