Role description
Location: Jackson, MI (Fully Remote) Schedule Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours Type Contract (Open Ended) | W2 Only | No C2C Pay Rate $43.00 - $47.00/hour Summary We are seeking a skilled Project Scheduler III to support large-scale infrastructure and construction-related projects through the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules. This individual will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers, Procurement teams, Cost Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines are accurately planned, tracked, and reported. The ideal candidate will have strong Primavera P6 scheduling experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex project schedules while supporting critical project execution activities. Key Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6. • Create project work breakdown structures (WBS), activities, milestones, logic ties, and resource-loaded schedules. • Monitor schedule performance and analyze project progress against established baselines. • Identify critical path activities, schedule risks, constraints, and potential impacts to project delivery. • Facilitate regular schedule review meetings with project teams and stakeholders. • Gather schedule updates from Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Cost teams. • Produce weekly and monthly schedule reports, dashboards, and project status updates. • Maintain schedule data integrity within Primavera P6 and associated project management systems. • Analyze schedule variances and recommend recovery plans or alternative execution strategies. • Support project change management processes by evaluating schedule impacts of scope changes. • Utilize Excel for schedule tracking, reporting, sorting, filtering, and data analysis. • Coordinate schedule updates across multiple project workstreams and contractors. • Collaborate with field teams to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment with project execution plans. • Assist leadership with forecasting project completion dates and key milestone tracking. • Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate schedule risks, updates, and recommendations. Required Qualifications • High School Diploma required; Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree preferred. • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience using Primavera P6 in a project scheduling environment. • Strong understanding of project scheduling principles, including: • Critical Path Method (CPM) • Schedule logic development • Activity relationships • Resource management • Baseline management • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and reporting functions. • Experience facilitating schedule update meetings with project stakeholders. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple teams. • Experience creating, maintaining, and updating project schedules throughout the project lifecycle. • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and virtual collaboration tools. • Ability to analyze schedule performance and identify potential project delays or risks. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting construction, utility, infrastructure, energy, or gas-related projects. • Experience working with project management systems such as Unifier. • Knowledge of Schedule Quality best practices within Primavera P6. • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost-loaded schedules. • Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboard creation. • Basic SQL, database, or reporting tool knowledge. • Familiarity with Project Gating processes and project controls methodologies. • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. • PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), CST, or other AACE International certifications. • Prior experience supporting gas storage, pipeline, or utility construction projects.
