Role description
Contract Python Software Engineer | £550-600/day IR35 Exempt
• Python Software Engineer (Python, Fast API)
• £550-600/day - IR35 Exempt
• Initial 2 months with scope of extension
• Hybrid - Central London (2 days a week)
We are partnered with a well-funded scale up in the proptech sector - they're one of the most widely used platforms in commercial property, transforming how deals are sourced, managed and closed.
You'll join a squad tasked with a new data product set to redefine commercial property insights. The product enables accurate comparable transaction data for various customers and clients.
Your primary focus will be to build and productionise backend APIs in Python/FastAPI that integrate real data sources into the application. You’ll be working closely with other senior software engineers to deliver clean, efficient, production-grade endpoints and help shape architectural decisions ahead of launch.
• Experience building scalable software in Python and Fast API, contributing to the end to end software development process
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, and OpenSearch.
• Work within a microservices environment (circa 100 services), ensuring performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Victor on architecture and design trade-offs.
What we’re looking for
• Strong commercial experience building scalable backends in Python (FastAPI preferred).
• Proven experience working with APIs, service boundaries, and data access layers.
• Exposure to Kafka and data streaming pipelines (desirable).
• Understanding of AWS and CI/CD workflows (GitHub).
• Ability to operate with minimal onboarding and pick up scoped tickets independently.
