Data/Python Engineer | Short-Term Contract Role (Immediate Start)
Inside IR35 | £800/day | Hybrid London (1–2 days/week) or Remote | Initially 4 week contract | Start within 1 week
We’re supporting a client with an urgent short-term requirement for a hands-on Data/Python Engineer to support a focused delivery workstream over the next month.
This role is ideal for someone who can operate autonomously, pick up context quickly, and deliver high‑quality data engineering outputs in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be working across Python-based data pipelines, integrations, cleansing, automation, and analytics-ready data outputs.
You must be immediately available and able to start within the next 7 days.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, enhance, and optimise Python-based data pipelines
• Cleanse, transform, and prepare datasets for downstream consumption
• Support ad‑hoc data engineering tasks across ingestion, modelling, and integration
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver rapid solutions
• Ensure code quality, testing, and reliable deployment of pipelines
• Operate independently and communicate progress clearly in a short delivery cycle
Ideal Candidate
• Strong commercial experience with Python for data engineering
• Comfortable working with ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations
• Experience with cloud environments ideally with Azure
• Strong SQL development skills
• Ability to rapidly understand data structures and produce clear, reliable outputs
• Proactive communicator able to deliver autonomously in a compressed timeline
