Python Developer - Financial Risk Systems Dublin, Ireland 2-3 days on site 12 month contract We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with hands-on experience in Rates, Bonds, Swaps, or other pricing/trading systems to join our financial risk team on a contract basis. You'll work on data-intensive applications, high-performance backend systems, and critical financial platforms, collaborating with quants, data scientists, and engineers. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain Python-based backend systems for pricing, risk, and trading platforms • Build APIs and data pipelines for real-time and batch processing of market and financial data • Collaborate with quants, traders, and analysts to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions • Participate in system design and architecture, ensuring scalability and security • Troubleshoot and optimize production systems, focusing on Rates, Bonds, Swaps, and derivatives workflows Required Skills & Experience: • 4+ years of professional Python development experience • Strong knowledge of Rates, Bonds, Swaps, or related pricing/trading systems • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB) • Proficiency in data processing using pandas, NumPy, and working with APIs • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Preferred: • Quantitative analysis, financial modeling, or experience with trading systems • Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ) Soft Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication; able to convey technical solutions to business stakeholders • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment Modis International Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers in the UK.
