About the Role
Botsford Associates is seeking experienced Python Developers to join a leading financial services client. There are three urgent openings for long-term consulting roles focused on backend application development in Python. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial services background, with a preference for market risk experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain backend applications using Python.
• Write production-level code and support production releases.
• Create technical specifications and collaborate directly with business stakeholders (no dedicated BA support).
• Integrate APIs with data coming from cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to a collaborative development environment alongside frontend teams (full stack not required).
Required Skills & Experience:
• Professional-level Python development experience in financial services (market risk strongly preferred).
• Strong backend development expertise; ability to work independently.
• Experience writing technical specifications and engaging directly with business teams.
• Hands-on experience with APIs and data integration.
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred) and familiarity with Databricks is a strong plus.
Interview Process:
• 2–3 step process:
• Initial interview with Bhavan and Rifat (Python Developer).
• Follow-up with Chandra (2nd or 3rd round, as needed).
• 2 remote interviews, with a potential onsite interview if required.
Work Model:
• Hybrid: Candidates may sit in the Jersey City, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.
• Remote flexibility available.

Open to 2 locations: NJ and Charlotte.
• Role Objectives5+ year of development experience in Python is mandatory, with optional experience in Databricks and Azure cloud computing.
• Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and distributed computing frameworks.
• Create and deploy applications in Azure environment with various interconnected azure components.
• Understand and enhance front-end applications using React JS, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks that may arise from inefficient code.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers and environments.
• Ensure that programs are written to the highest standards (e.g., Unit Tests) and technical specifications.
• Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
