Role description
Scope: • Support upstream modernization efforts focused on securitization, sourcing, and servicing platforms • Work on downstream applications (6–7 systems) that consume securitization data • Modify applications to source data from new systems (Snowflake) • Perform heavy backend development with minimal frontend involvement • Handle large-scale data processing, including: • Complex SQL query transformation • Data extraction and integration across multiple sources • Work with SMEs for business context but independently build and modify complex queries • Contribute to a multi-year modernization initiative (2026+) Must Have Qualifications : • 7+ years of hands-on development Python development • Strong SQL expertise (critical): • Ability to write and understand complex queries (DB2 / SQL Server) • Comfortable working with large datasets and joins across multiple tables • Experience with: • Python – NumPy or Pandas • Snowflake (data extraction & new data source integration) • Solid data analysis experience • Ability to work with high-volume data environments • Must be an experienced engineer (not entry-level) Preferred: • Freddie Mac / securitization domain experience (strong differentiator, not mandatory) • Experience with data engineering or ETL concepts (tools not required) • Familiarity with Python data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) (nice-to-have, not critical) • Background in data-focused roles with Python Exposure to multi-system data migration projects
