Python Developer

R/Python Developer 12- month Contract Jacksonville (Not Remote) Brooksource is seeking a Junior R/Python Developer to support analytics modernization efforts for a large Health Care Insurance provider. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who has hands-on experience with R and Python, is comfortable working in a Linux Environment, and is eager to expand their skills by learning Posit Platform (Formerly Rstudio). Responsibilities • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of R Scripts and workflows to support analytics, reporting, and data migration efforts. • Assist in converting SAS and other legacy codebases into R and Python. • Support integration and deployment activities within Linux-based environments. • Collaborate with senior developers and administrators to implement best practices for reproducible, well-documented R code. • Help monitor and troubleshoot code performance and data processing issues. • Learn to use and support the Posit Platform (RStudio Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager) under the guidance of senior team members. • Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and team knowledge sharing. Requirements • 1–2 years of experience with R (academic, internship, or professional). • Working knowledge of Python for scripting and data manipulation. • Familiarity with Linux command-line tools and scripting. • Understanding of data wrangling, visualization, and analysis • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a desire to learn in a collaborative environment.
