Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the testing strategy for a critical reference data system that supports multiple downstream applications and business processes. This role ensures high standards of data integrity, system stability, and release confidence through a combination of strategic test planning, automated regression testing, and risk-based quality assurance practices. Responsibilities: • Define and maintain an end-to-end testing strategy aligned to business-critical reference data usage and risk profile • Establish QA standards, test coverage expectations, and quality metrics for the platform • Identify testing gaps and proactively drive improvements to QA maturity • Ensure quality considerations are embedded early in the delivery lifecycle (shift-left testing) • Design, build, and maintain automated regression test suites to validate reference data changes and system integrations • Establish automation frameworks that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable • Determine appropriate balance between automated and manual testing based on risk • Assist development teams to validate reference data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and downstream impacts • Design and execute tests for data transformations, mappings, APIs, service integrations, batch processes, and feeds • Perform source-to-target validation and ensure referential integrity across systems • Partner with Product Owners and Engineers to define testable requirements and acceptance criteria • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release activities • Provide quality status, risk assessments, and go/no-go recommendations for releases • Identify and communicate testing and data risks in business terms • Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements through documented testing evidence • Reduce production incidents by proactively preventing defects Requirements: • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing • Proven experience owning QA for complex, business-critical systems • Demonstrated success implementing automated testing for enterprise platforms • Experience testing data-centric systems or reference/master data platforms • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools • 2-3 years experience within banking and financial industry • Working experience with globally located teams • Strong communication skills • Strong experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (UI and/or API) • Hands-on experience with API testing and automation • Experience testing system integrations and data pipelines • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration • Strong experience with JIRA Desired skills: • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery models • Experience with risk-based testing approaches • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices • Experience in regulated industries or environments with audit requirements • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and architectures • Exposure to performance or reliability testing • Knowledge of data governance or data management frameworks Pay range: $50.42 - $58.42 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
