This role will focus on the design, deployment, configuration, and support of RabbitMQ across non-production and production environments as part of a wider enterprise PAM architecture. RabbitMQ is a key messaging component within regional deployments supporting secure authentication, secrets management, and privileged access workflows. You will work closely with internal engineering, architecture, and security teams, as well as external vendors, to deliver scalable and resilient messaging infrastructure aligned to enterprise standards. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and support RabbitMQ clusters across distributed and multi-site environments • Provide SME input into architecture design decisions for RabbitMQ within PAM solutions • Deploy RabbitMQ using in-house tooling, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices • Configure and manage RabbitMQ clusters using command line tools and operational best practices • Support both Linux and Windows-based RabbitMQ deployments • Work within Kubernetes environments, leveraging Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests where applicable • Develop and maintain Python and PowerShell scripts to automate deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks • Contribute to Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and technical documentation in collaboration with architecture teams • Support integration of RabbitMQ within broader IAM, authentication, and PAM ecosystems • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed messaging and clustered systems • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resilience, and availability • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including vendors Essential Skills & Experience • Strong commercial experience with RabbitMQ (queues, exchanges, shovels, clustering) • Experience configuring and managing RabbitMQ clusters and multi-site deployments • Proficiency managing RabbitMQ via command line interfaces (CLI) • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows Server environments • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (pods, deployments, manifests, Helm charts) • Experience creating and managing Docker images and containers • Strong programming/scripting ability in Python (including classes and modules) • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in distributed systems • Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments (e.g. financial services, IAM, PAM, security) • Ability to translate technical requirements into practical engineering solutions • Strong documentation skills (LLDs, runbooks, technical designs) Desirable Skills • Windows Server administration experience • Familiarity with PKI, certificates, OpenSSL, and PowerShell certificate management • Experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management • Understanding of Docker image tagging and lifecycle management • Exposure to IAM, authentication, or secrets management platforms • Experience in highly regulated industries (banking, government, financial services) Key Behaviours • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently • Comfortable working with unfamiliar technologies and environments • Ability to translate non-technical requirements into technical solutions • Strong communication skills across technical and business stakeholders • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on documentation and operational clarity Environment This role sits within a strategic global PAM and IAM transformation programme in a highly regulated financial services environment. You will be working in a collaborative engineering team focused on building resilient, secure, and scalable messaging infrastructure.
