Role description
RAN Virtualization OAMP Engineer Location: Plano TX (100% Onsite) Duration: Long-term Contract No C2C, only W2 candidates Key Responsibilities: β€’ Provide Tier 3 technical support for commercial EMS/NMS applications and virtualized RAN networks. β€’ Troubleshoot complex OAMP/FCAPS issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA) in collaboration with R&D and cross-functional engineering teams. β€’ Author and execute software upgrade MOPs for commercial EMS/NMS and network element deployments. β€’ Support integration, deployment, and performance optimization of virtualized RAN (vCU/vDU) environments. β€’ Assist in defining product requirements, feature validation, and system design for new 4G/5G network management capabilities. β€’ Support customer technical discussions, new technology introductions, and pre-sales engineering activities. β€’ Collaborate with engineering, product management, and support organizations to ensure successful product rollouts and customer satisfaction. β€’ Troubleshoot cloud-native infrastructure, high availability environments, and network management platforms. Required Skills: β€’ 5+ years of experience with OAMP/FCAPS, EMS/NMS, OSS, and wireless network management. β€’ Hands-on experience supporting Tier 3 production environments and delivering customer-facing root cause analysis (RCA). β€’ Experience authoring and implementing EMS/NMS software upgrade MOPs in commercial wireless networks. β€’ Experience with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and virtualized RAN environments (vCU/vDU). β€’ Strong understanding of Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Perl, or TCL. β€’ Experience troubleshooting using command-line tools and scripting. β€’ Knowledge of SNMP, TNM protocols, NetConf, REST APIs, TR-069, and YANG models. β€’ Strong understanding of hardware/software architecture and high availability systems. Preferred Background: β€’ Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift. β€’ Knowledge of O-RAN SMO, Non-RT RIC, ONAP, ETSI MANO, OASIS TOSCA, and automation/orchestration frameworks. β€’ Experience with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, SR-IOV, VirtIO, VLANs, Security Groups). β€’ Familiarity with 3GPP Core and RAN architectures and protocols. β€’ Java, JavaScript, SOAP, XML, HTML, Web Services, or J2EE development experience is a plus. Education β€’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field required. β€’ Master's degree preferred.
