Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to act as a liaison between financial institution clients and internal development and quality assurance teams. This role focuses on the payments sector, specifically concerning card payments and their associated messaging systems. The position involves engaging in all phases of the development cycle, from concept and requirements definition to technical design, testing, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a liaison between end clients (financial institutions) and Development and QA teams.
• Interact with customers to gather and define system and functional requirements for the product.
• Prepare business requirements, functional specifications, and system documentation.
• Serve as a resource in business process re-design activities, assisting customers in identifying system enhancements.
• Work with quality assurance and programming teams to ensure changes are migrated into production correctly.
• Convey business requirements to technical teams.
• Perform application, system, and regression tests as needed.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a business or systems analyst.
• Experience in the payment processing industry is required.
• Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, use cases, and functional or technical specifications.
• Familiarity with both waterfall and agile development methodologies.
Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of ISO 8583 or ISO 20022 messaging standards.
• Understanding of APIs and UI development.
• Strong communication skills for direct interaction with financial institution clients.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of debit and credit issuer processing.
• Experience with API messages and data mapping.
• Technical expertise in EFT transaction messaging, switching, and routing.
• Familiarity with high-speed transaction processing environments.
• Background in ATM messaging, fraud strategies, or dispute processing.
• Experience with core banking or credit union domains.
Work Environment
This is a remote position. Candidates must reside within the United States, excluding California, New York, and Washington. Working hours are generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM within the candidate's time zone, with a required overlap of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central Standard Time.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $55.00/hr to $68.00/hr. Please note that a contract-to-hire position is a temporary assignment that may lead to direct employment with the client. Benefits are available to contract/temporary employees and include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as short-term disability, a 401(k) plan, and paid sick time.
