Role description
Team: Data Tools & Data Management / Enterprise Data Platform
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Data Tools & Reporting Platform Engineer with strong experience in administering enterprise reporting tools and supporting modern cloud-based data environments. This role will support the administration, configuration, and operational management of reporting platforms—primarily Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ)—with additional exposure to Tableau preferred. The ideal candidate has solid experience with Snowflake, Azure cloud services, and a willingness to work across multiple tools in the data ecosystem.
This individual will play a critical role in operational readiness, business continuity, platform standards, and enabling self-service analytics across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting Tools Administration
• Administer, configure, and support Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) (must-have).
• Perform user provisioning, workspace management, gateway configurations, and data source connections.
• Support Tableau Server/Online as a preferred/secondary skill.
• Manage version upgrades, patches, usage monitoring, and troubleshooting across all reporting tools.
Data Platform Support
• Support and maintain Snowflake environments including access management, role assignments, monitoring, and performance-related tasks.
• Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams on standards, security models, and usage optimization.
Cloud (Azure) Experience
• Work with Azure services such as Azure AD, Azure Storage, Key Vault, VMs, gateways, networking basics, etc.
• Support infrastructure configurations, integrations, and operational activities across cloud platforms.
Operational Excellence
• Ensure operational availability, platform uptime, and adherence to SLAs.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident management, and production support.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and best practices.
Business Continuity & Standards
• Implement and maintain platform standards, governance controls, and deployment checklists.
• Support backup and recovery processes, BCDR readiness, and redundancy planning for reporting and data platforms.
Self-Service Enablement
• Champion self-service analytics and help establish scalable governance models.
• Guide business teams on workspace usage, dataset management, and best practices.
• Support onboarding, training, and general enablement of analytics teams.
Multi-Tool Flexibility
• Work across multiple tools in the data ecosystem—Collibra, Dataiku, Matillion, GitHub, Delphix, or others—as needed.
• Willingness to learn and support new platforms as part of a broader Tools & Platform Administration model.
Required Qualifications
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in reporting tool administration.
• Strong expertise in Power BI and BOBJ administration (must-have).
• Experience with Snowflake (role management, monitoring, basic SQL).
• Cloud experience—Azure preferred, AWS/GCP nice to have.
• Understanding of authentication, SSO, gateways, and access/security models.
• Working knowledge of service management, incident processes, and business continuity practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple tools.
Preferred Skills
• Tableau Server administration experience.
• Experience with Dataiku, Collibra, Matillion, Delphix, GitHub Enterprise, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices for data.
