RPA Business Analyst (Onsite Contract Role)

About the Role
Thunderhawk Technology Partners is seeking an experienced RPA Business Analyst to support a large-scale enterprise automation program for one of our Fortune 100 clients. This is a highly visible onsite role working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and process owners to drive end-to-end automation delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to understand current manual processes and identify automation opportunities.
β’ Conduct detailed process assessments, feasibility analysis, and document AS-IS / TO-BE workflows.
β’ Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirement sessions with stakeholders.
β’ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirement documents (BRD), functional requirement documents (FRD), and process design documents (PDD).
RPA Solution Design Support
β’ Translate business requirements into detailed specifications for RPA developers.
β’ Work with solution architects to assist in designing scalable, efficient automation solutions.
β’ Ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation throughout the automation lifecycle.
Project & Delivery Management
β’ Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and development teams.
β’ Track delivery milestones, manage backlog items, and support Agile ceremonies.
β’ Coordinate UAT planning, execution, and sign-off with business teams.
β’ Support production deployment and post-implementation validation.
Process Optimization & Governance
β’ Identify process improvement opportunities beyond automation (standardization, elimination, consolidation).
β’ Support automation governance, compliance, and documentation standards.
β’ Contribute to automation pipeline development and value tracking.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with 2+ years focused on RPA initiatives.
β’ Strong understanding of RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism (no tool-specific certification required, but a plus).
β’ Experience documenting business processes using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
β’ Ability to create detailed BRDs, FRDs, PDDs, and other automation artifacts.
β’ Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and automation delivery lifecycles.
β’ Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills.
β’ Strong analytical and problemβsolving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Prior experience working in large enterprise environments with complex process ecosystems.
β’ RPA certification(s) such as UiPath Business Analyst, Automation Anywhere Analyst, etc.
β’ Experience supporting multiple automation projects simultaneously.
β’ Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and basic technical concepts.
