The role.. We’re looking for a capable accountant to help clean up and improve our balance sheet reconciliations as part of an ongoing finance improvement programme.This is a hands-on role. You’ll be reviewing data, identifying issues, fixing inaccuracies and ensuring reconciliations are accurate and ready for migration into a new system (ARCS). If you enjoy digging into data, spotting inconsistencies and leaving things better than you found them, this role will suit you. Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include: Reviewing and cleansing GL data Identifying and correcting posting errors and misclassifications Improving and restructuring balance sheet reconciliations Clearing old or immaterial reconciling items Ensuring reconciliations fully tie back to the GL Preparing reconciliations for migration into ARCS Working closely with the RTR and wider finance teams to resolve issues Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria) Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or strong QBE with relevant experience Solid experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations Comfortable working with large data sets and complex charts of accounts Strong Excel skills Able to work independently and manage deadlines Other things we’re looking for (key criteria) Strong attention to detail with a genuine enjoyment of problem solving and investigative accounting work Collaborative team player who actively contributes to a positive, no-blame culture Comfortable working at pace, managing competing priorities and maintaining quality under pressure Resilient and adaptable, with the confidence to operate effectively in ambiguity and change Self-motivated and well organised, able to manage own workload with minimal supervision Clear, confident communicator, able to explain issues, progress and outcomes to a range of stakeholders Willing and able to challenge constructively and influence at multiple levels when resolving issues Motivated by continuous improvement and supportive of transformation, process automation and systems change Desirable experience: Hands-on experience of large-scale data cleansing or high-volume reconciliations Exposure to finance transformation programmes and/or Oracle ERP environments Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date.
