Role description
We’re partnering with a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a Data Sales Engineer to join their team. This role blends technical expertise with strong communication skills to drive sales of advanced data solutions, including Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), AI, big data, and analytics platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with the sales team to understand client needs, deliver impactful demos, and design tailored solutions that solve real business challenges. Key Responsibilities β€’ Technical Sales Support: Work with the sales team to qualify leads, develop strategies, and provide technical guidance throughout the sales cycle. β€’ Product Demonstrations: Deliver engaging presentations and demos that clearly communicate the value and technical benefits of data solutions. β€’ Solution Design: Analyze customer requirements and architect scalable, customized solutions aligned with their data infrastructure and business goals. β€’ Address Technical Concerns: Resolve customer questions and objections, building trust and confidence in proposed solutions. β€’ Documentation: Prepare technical proposals, statements of work, and responses to RFPs/RFIs. β€’ Customer Liaison: Act as the technical point of contact, ensuring smooth communication between clients and internal teams. β€’ Industry Expertise: Stay current on emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive landscapes. β€’ Product Feedback: Provide insights to product development teams to enhance offerings based on customer needs. β€’ Sales Goals: Partner with sales to achieve revenue targets and drive growth. Qualifications β€’ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. β€’ Experience: Previous experience as a Sales Engineer or similar technical role, ideally in enterprise solutions. Familiarity with SaaS/DaaS models preferred. β€’ Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of big data concepts, data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift), and data pipeline architectures. β€’ Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). β€’ Understanding of data storage types and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau). β€’ Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
