Role description
One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate is a certified Salesforce professional with deep experience in designing customer journeys, building marketing automations, and integrating external data into Salesforce Data Cloud. This role will focus on delivering personalized, data-driven customer experiences by connecting diverse data sources, harmonizing customer profiles, and building scalable marketing solutions. Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud Developer Hybrid - 2 days/week - Mostly Wednesdays/Thursdays Downtown Columbus, OH Long Term Contract Interviews - On Site Responsibilities: Design and implement customer journeys in Journey Builder and Automation Studio, enabling multi-channel engagement through email, SMS, and push notifications. Connect and integrate external databases and APIs into Salesforce Data Cloud, ensuring unified customer profiles and reliable data pipelines. Build and maintain data ingestion flows, data models, and calculated insights within Data Cloud to power segmentation and personalization. Write and optimize AMPscript, SQL, and SSJS to support dynamic content, audience targeting, and automation. Partner with business stakeholders to translate marketing requirements into scalable technical solutions using Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. Establish and enforce coding, deployment, and data governance standards across Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud development. Create and maintain technical documentation for journeys, data integrations, and automation processes. Mentor junior Salesforce developers, promoting best practices in journey development and data connectivity. Stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud releases, features, and best practices to continuously improve solutions. Required Skills: 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience. Proven ability to create and optimize customer journeys using Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Studio). Strong proficiency in SQL, AMPscript, SSJS, and API integrations. Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, including data ingestion, modeling, identity resolution, and calculated insights. Solid understanding of data-driven marketing, personalization, and segmentation strategies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (Salesforce DX, Copado, Gearset). Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Certification: Active Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant
