SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services) Developer

SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services) Developer Remote Position Duration: 12+ months Client is seeking an experienced SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services) Developer to support the data integration and migration efforts as part of a strategic transformation to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in data warehousing, ETL development using BODS, and previous experience or knowledge in migrating ETL workloads to cloud-based platforms, preferably CP4D. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows and data pipelines using SAP BODS. • Analyze current ETL architecture and define the strategy for migrating to CP4D. • Migrate existing BODS jobs and dataflows to CP4D-compatible solutions (e.g., DataStage on CP4D or alternative tooling). • Work closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with enterprise standards. • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation tasks to support business reporting and analytics. • Support performance tuning and optimization of ETL processes during and post-migration. • Document processes, data flows, and solutions for handover and support purposes. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment. Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BODS including dataflow design, data extraction, transformation, and loading. • Proven experience with data migration projects, especially moving from BODS to modern data platforms. • Experience or exposure to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), particularly DataStage on CP4D, is highly preferred. • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL best practices, and data modeling. • Proficiency in working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.). • Experience with data quality and metadata management tools. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerized ETL environments. • Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. • Relevant certifications in SAP BODS, IBM DataStage/CP4D, or cloud technologies are a plus.
