Role description
Job Title: SAP ECC / S/4HANA RAP Technical Developer
Location: Washington D.C. 20433 (Hybrid, 4 days in a week)
Type: Long-term Contract
Only H4-EAD, L2-EAD, GC- EAD, GC and Citizens
We are seeking an experienced SAP ECC / S/4HANA RAP Technical Developer (Level 3) for an onsite engagement (no remote work). This role is part of our finance ERP program and requires a senior developer who can deliver robust, upgrade-safe solutions aligned with SAP architecture and modern ABAP practices.
Responsibilities:
β’ WBG is undergoing a multi-year, multi-stage transformation from SAP ECC on-premises to SAP S/4HANA on-premise. The program involves a large volume of custom ABAP code built to support specialized business processes.
β’ Transformation Stages
β’ Adapt existing custom ABAP code for compatibility with S/4HANA simplified data structures and programming model.
β’ Re-engineer code using clean-core principles and cloud-ready ABAP (strict ABAP) within S/4HANA.
β’ Leverage frameworks such as RAP, CDS, and AMDP.
β’ Selected components may shift to SAP BTP using side-by-side extensibility where architectural or scalability benefits exist.
Minimum Qualifications
β’ 15+ years of SAP ABAP development in ECC.
β’ 7+ years of S/4HANA development experience.
β’ Cloud experience.
Technical Core Requirements
β’ ABAP (ECC & S/4HANA) with RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) experience for designing and building upgrade-safe services and UIs.
β’ Proficiency with CDS views, OData, and performance-optimized data models.
β’ Familiarity with Fiori/UI5 development and integration patterns.
β’ BTP experience is a plus.
β’ Ability to interpret functional requirements, perform fitβgap, and take end-to-end ownership from technical design through delivery.
