Role description
NextGen Enterprise Product Analyst/Business Analyst Location: Remote Duration: 12-month contract to start with strong potential for extension/conversion Our client, a Fortune 500 energy company serving millions of customers across multiple states, is seeking an experienced NextGen Enterprise Product Analyst / Business Analyst to support Agile product and project delivery teams. This role will serve as a strategic partner to Product Owners, business stakeholders, designers, and development teams by translating business needs into actionable requirements and supporting the successful delivery of enterprise technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Azure DevOps (ADO), experienced working in Agile environments, and capable of functioning as an extension of the Product Owner. This individual must be able to contribute immediately with minimal onboarding and possess strong business analysis, process mapping, testing, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with SAP is required. Utility industry experience and a finance or accounting background are highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements. • Develop and maintain epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria within Azure DevOps. • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, backlog refinement meetings, and stakeholder discussions. • Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and system interactions. • Create process maps and support "As-Is" and "To-Be" state documentation. • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and delivered functionality. Agile Product Support • Act as a trusted partner and extension of the Product Owner. • Support backlog management, feature prioritization, and PI Planning activities. • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Design Teams, Developers, and business stakeholders throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle. • Participate in discovery and solution design activities to ensure business objectives are effectively translated into technical solutions. Testing & Quality Assurance • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, validation, and defect management. • Validate that delivered solutions align with documented requirements and acceptance criteria. • Assist in identifying root causes and resolving functional issues throughout the development lifecycle. • Support release readiness activities to ensure successful deployment of new features and enhancements. Documentation, Training & Change Management • Develop business-facing documentation, training materials, and user guides. • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and support end-user adoption efforts. • Assist with product demonstrations and stakeholder communications as needed. Strategic & Operational Support • Support business case development, feasibility studies, and technology initiative assessments. • Assist with RFP activities, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution demonstrations. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, internal controls, and operational efficiency efforts. • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of Business Analyst or Product Analyst experience supporting Agile delivery teams. • Advanced proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO). • Hands-on experience creating and managing epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria. • Strong experience working with SAP applications and business processes. • Experience supporting Product Owners and managing Agile backlogs. • Strong business process analysis and documentation skills. • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect management. • Experience developing and delivering training materials. • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work independently and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. Preferred Qualifications • SAFe Agile experience. • Utility industry experience. • Finance or accounting background, particularly supporting finance-focused teams. • Experience participating in PI Planning activities. • Experience serving as a Product Owner proxy or business-facing product support resource. Ideal Candidate Profile • Fluent in Azure DevOps and Agile delivery practices. • Experienced working within SAP environments. • Capable of functioning as a seamless extension of the Product Owner. • Comfortable engaging with both technical and business stakeholders. • Skilled at translating complex business needs into actionable requirements. • Experienced creating training materials and supporting organizational change. • Able to quickly learn and contribute within a fast-paced enterprise environment. Note: This role requires a candidate who can add immediate value and operate with minimal training or onboarding. Candidates with utility, finance, and SAP experience will be given strong preference.
