SAP PEO Technical Solution Architect

We are seeking an experienced SAP Product Engineering and Operations (PEO) Technical Solution Architect to lead the design, configuration, and integration of SAP PEO within a complex manufacturing environment. This role sits at the intersection of Engineering (PLM), Manufacturing Execution, and ERP. You will define the technical solution, lead architecture decisions, and drive integration across PLM, S/4HANA ERP, and shopfloor systems. This is a senior, hands-on position requiring both architectural leadership and delivery capability. Key Responsibilities Technical Solution Definition • Lead requirements workshops with Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT stakeholders • Translate business and technical requirements into SAP PEO solution architecture • Define integration scope and technical landscape Technical Solution Design • Own end-to-end architecture for SAP PEO • Define EBOM to MBOM transformation strategy • Design production version, routing, and execution models • Define master data governance across PLM and ERP • Produce detailed technical design documentation Configuration & Development • Lead SAP PEO configuration activities • Design and oversee enhancements (BAdIs, user exits, extensions) • Provide technical leadership to development teams • Ensure code quality, transport management, and technical standards Integration Leadership • Define integration patterns between: • PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill) • SAP S/4HANA ERP • Shopfloor / MES systems • Oversee middleware design (CPI, PI/PO, APIs, BTP where applicable) • Ensure real-time and batch integration models meet operational needs Stakeholder & SI Coordination • Work closely with PLM System Integrator (PLM SI) • Align engineering and manufacturing data models • Support testing, cutover, and deployment activities Required Experience • Strong experience delivering SAP PEO implementations • Deep understanding of discrete manufacturing processes • Proven experience integrating PLM with SAP manufacturing solutions • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA manufacturing architecture • Experience with integration technologies (CPI, APIs, IDocs, middleware) • Technical development background (ABAP or equivalent SAP extensibility) • Experience acting as Technical Lead or Solution Architect Desirable Experience • Aerospace, automotive, or complex manufacturing industry experience • SAP Digital Manufacturing or MES integration experience • Experience in large-scale transformation programmes Personal Profile • Confident technical decision-maker • Strong workshop and stakeholder engagement skills • Able to balance architecture oversight with hands-on delivery • Comfortable operating in complex, multi-SI environments
