Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAS Professional for a high-impact role at a major banking client in Charlotte, NC. This position requires a unique blend of deep technical mastery and strong interpersonal skills. You will serve as the technical core and subject matter expert, providing hands-on software engineering, technical support, and training to business users transitioning to the modern SAS Viya interface.
The ideal candidate has a robust background in legacy SAS environments combined with extensive hands-on experience deploying, navigating, and optimizing SAS Viya architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• User Transition & Training: Guide, support, and train business users as they migrate workflows from traditional SAS environments to the SAS Viya interface.
• Technical Support & Engineering: Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization for SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Studio users.
• Platform & Content Assessment: Utilize SAS Content Assessment tools to evaluate legacy code and readiness for Viya migration; leverage SAS Environment Manager for platform oversight.
• Modern Dev Integration: Implement and promote best practices for version control via Git integration within the SAS ecosystem.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical processes into clear, actionable guidance.

Experience Requirements
• Total SAS Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience working with SAS products overall.
• SAS Viya Expertise: Minimum of 3–5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience with SAS Viya architecture and interfaces.
• Overall Career Span: 10–12 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or advanced analytics platforms.
Technical Skill Set
• Core Interfaces: Deep proficiency in SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Studio.
• Viya Tooling: Strong familiarity with SAS Content Assessment, SAS Environment Manager, and cloud-analytic capabilities within Viya.
• Development Tools: Solid understanding of Git integration within SAS environments for version control.
• Advanced Programming: Expert-level SAS macro programming, SQL processing, and data optimization skills.
• Soft Skills & Domain Knowledge
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to train and mentor non-technical business users.
