SC/DV Technical Lead Engineer

SC/DV Cleared Technical Lead Engineer I'm looking for an experienced Lead Engineer with active SC or DV Clearance to provide technical leadership across complex cloud and software delivery programmes. You'll work closely with engineering teams, architects, delivery leads, and stakeholders to guide solution design, drive engineering best practice, and support successful delivery from concept through to production. Rate: £600-£650 / day Outside IR35 Location: London (2-3 days / week) Contract Length: 12 months Clearance: Active SC or DV (non-negotiable) Key Responsibilities • Provide technical leadership across delivery teams. • Guide solution design, implementation, and operational readiness. • Review technical approaches to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability. • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices. • Support Agile delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. • Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and testing teams. • Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges. Required Experience • Proven experience in a technical leadership position (e.g. Senior Software Engineer / Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer etc.) • Strong background delivering cloud-based and modern software solutions. • Experience leading engineering teams within Agile environments. • Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or other enterprise cloud platforms • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and modern engineering / development practices. • Software engineering experience delivering scalable applications, APIs and secure development principles. • Strong understanding of security, resilience, and operational excellence.
