Role description
Job Title : Scientist 3 Location : Spring House, PA (Onsite) Employment Type : Contract (W2 / 1099) Duration : 12 months Salary The hourly rate for this position is $32 – $43 per hour. Benefits “This is a contract position and does not include employer-provided benefits.” About the Role This role focuses on developing and supporting advanced laboratory automation systems for cell culture, biophysical, and mass spectrometry workflows. The position combines hands-on robotic operations with programming and process optimization to enhance lab efficiency and throughput. Responsibilities • Operate and validate robotic runs; monitor system performance and document deviations • Collaborate with scientists to translate manual lab workflows into automated processes • Develop, optimize, and maintain high-throughput workflows using liquid-handling robots • Expand automation capabilities by implementing new functionalities • Troubleshoot automation systems and perform root cause analysis • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues • Document best practices and support training for end-users • Continuously improve automation processes and system performance Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • Minimum 3+ years of experience with programming languages (Python, JavaScript, R, C++/C#) or lab automation schedulers (Green Button Go, Cellario) • Hands-on experience with liquid handling systems (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman) • Experience with lab automation and robotics systems • Experience handling protein samples and analytical sampling • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degree in a related field • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau • Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping • Industry or academic experience accepted Equal Opportunity Employer We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
