Role description
Job Title: Security Design Data Analyst Location: Remote (up to 25% travel) Duration: 6-month contract (potential extension/renewal) Salary Range: $120-150,000 (negotiable based on experience) Summary: The Security Design Data Analyst supports data-driven physical security design through the analysis of threat intelligence and facility risk data. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining dashboards and reports that document, track, and visualize risk using tools, ensuring mitigation is achieved through security design. Responsibilities: • Analyze threat intelligence reports and supporting data to assess the current physical threat landscape affecting data center and other critical infrastructure facilities. • Apply and maintain a threat-based design framework to identify, categorize, and document undesirable events relevant to data center environments. • Evaluate and score risks based on data-informed likelihood and impact to support consistent risk prioritization. • Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments of existing facilities to identify design gaps, inform upgrade strategies, and support lifecycle planning. • Develop scalable vulnerability assessment methodologies for new facilities and facilities undergoing lifecycle upgrades. • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and data visualizations using tools to communicate risk posture, trends, and priorities. • Ensure all threat, risk, and vulnerability data is documented, tracked, and structured to support periodic updates and long-term program sustainability. • Coordinate with the Operations Threat Intelligence team to support annual updates to risk assessments and dashboards based on emerging threats and new evaluations. • Track and report on measurable security design outcomes to demonstrate risk reduction over time. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Analysis, Intelligence Studies, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. • 5+ years of experience in physical security, threat analysis, risk management, or security design–related roles supporting complex facilities such as data centers, critical infrastructure, or large enterprise environments. • Demonstrated experience applying threat‑based or risk‑based methodologies to evaluate likelihood, impact, and overall risk. • Strong understanding of physical security concepts and how threats and vulnerabilities influence security design, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter security considerations. • Experience developing structured assessments, risk models, or risk registers that are repeatable and scalable. • Proven ability to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that visualize risk posture, trends, and priorities using tools such as ClickUp or similar platforms. • Ability to analyze and synthesize threat intelligence and supporting data into clear, actionable insights for security design stakeholders. • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, auditable, and updateable datasets over time. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across cross‑functional teams.
