Role Overview We are seeking an experienced 10+ years, Actuarial Professional (ACAS/FCAS) with proven expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. The ideal candidate will lead rate filings, trend analyses, and actuarial documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and DOI (Department of Insurance) requirements. This position requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills to support pricing, reserving, and business strategy functions. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead and complete state rate filing processes, including rate development, trend analysis, documentation preparation, and DOI coordination. β€’ Independently apply advanced actuarial methodologies and technical models to address complex and unstructured business problems. β€’ Select, validate, and analyze data to support rate level indications and develop technical requirements aligned with business objectives. β€’ Develop and communicate actuarial insights and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership. β€’ Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and product teams to revise rates, monitor trends, and ensure pricing adequacy. β€’ Identify compliance gaps and process improvement opportunities, developing actionable solutions. β€’ Support audit, risk management, and regulatory activities to maintain a strong control environment. β€’ Lead actuarial initiatives and contribute as a subject matter expert on multi-functional projects. Required Qualifications β€’ ACAS or FCAS designation (or equivalent from another Actuarial society). β€’ 5–10 years of experience in Actuarial Analysis within Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. β€’ Proven experience in rate filings, pricing, and trend analysis for P&C lines. β€’ Strong proficiency in actuarial and statistical tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL, Excel). β€’ Deep understanding of regulatory filings, DOI processes, and actuarial documentation. β€’ Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex technical results to non-technical audiences. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Preferred Skills β€’ Experience with Predictive Modeling and GLM techniques. β€’ Exposure to Commercial Lines, Personal Auto, or Homeowners Insurance pricing. β€’ Familiarity with risk management, data governance, and compliance frameworks. β€’ Prior experience with state-specific rate filings and responding to DOI objections.
