Role description
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Adyen Engineer for a Contract position with a client located in Maryland.
Rate Range: $55-$60/hr on W2 without benefits, The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Job Types: ~9 months Contract (with potential extension)
Location: 100% Remote
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Senior Adyen Engineer to join a high-impact, enterprise-scale payment transformation initiative. This role will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting a large North American organization as they migrate from a legacy payment platform to Adyen across a complex, multi-brand environment.
This is a consultative, advisory role where you will work closely with internal engineering teams, system integrators, and program leadership to guide architecture, integration, and migration strategy.
Key Responsibilities
โข Act as the Adyen SME, guiding engineering teams on best practices across Checkout API, tokenization, webhooks, and dispute management
โข Provide architectural review and integration design support for payment systems and downstream dependencies
โข Advise on token vault migration strategy, including re-tokenization and coexistence with legacy PSPs
โข Support API design, event-driven architecture, and payment service layer integration
Required Experience
โข 7+ years of experience in software engineering or payment systems
โข 3+ years of hands-on Adyen experience (Checkout API, tokenization, webhooks, etc.)
โข Strong background in payment gateways / PSP integrations
โข Experience with payment platform migrations or transformation programs
โข Solid understanding of:
โข Tokenization & payment flows
โข 3DS / authentication flows
โข PCI DSS and secure data handling
โข Experience working in enterprise-scale, cross-functional environments
โข Ability to operate in a client-facing, advisory capacity
