Position Overview
A fast-growing transportation and logistics operations team is seeking a Senior Associate specializing in Parcel (Data & Operations) to manage daily regional transportation performance through third-party carrier partnerships. This highly data-driven position focuses on operational visibility, analytics, and process improvement within parcel transportation networks. The Senior Associate will guide daily execution, ensure robust shipment tracking, and develop tools that enhance network reliability and carrier accountability.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Own all aspects of regional transportation performance, combining operational oversight with data analysis.
β’ Serve as Team Lead for Track & Trace, overseeing daily parcel visibility and exception management efforts.
β’ Analyze lane-, carrier-, and node-level trends, including on-time delivery, delays, exceptions, and rollovers.
β’ Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, trackers, and recurring performance reports to monitor transportation KPIs.
β’ Conduct root-cause analyses, document findings, and track corrective actions to drive network improvements.
β’ Develop and evolve standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on quantitative insights and operational feedback.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve carrier accountability and streamline workflows.
β’ Translate data findings into actionable recommendations for leadership and team members.
Qualifications
β’ 3β5 years of experience in logistics or transportation operations, preferably with exposure to parcel services.
β’ Experience leading or supporting operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Strong analytical skills, with a proven root-cause mindset and data-driven decision making.
β’ Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivots, lookups, and performance tracking).
β’ Experience using SQL and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) to extract, analyze, and visualize transportation data.
β’ Excellent communication skills with both front-line operators and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Turvo, MercuryGate, or similar platforms.
β’ Proficiency in BI dashboards and data visualization.
β’ Background in high-growth, startup, or rapid-scale environments.
