Role description
The Role: Senior ODI ETL & OAS/OBIEE BI Banking Data Developer Salary: £80,000 – £100,000 per annum Location: London We’re partnering with an established international bank in the UK that is investing heavily in its data and analytics capabilities. They’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Senior ODI ETL & OAS/OBIEE BI Banking Data Developer to join the IT team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing, building and optimising the bank’s data warehouse and BI solutions, working primarily with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS/OBIEE) across core banking, treasury and finance data. What you’ll be doing: Data Warehouse & Data Marts • Design, implement and manage data warehouse schemas and data marts for high-volume banking data • Implement data models and schemas to support fast, efficient reporting and analytics • Perform ongoing maintenance and enhancements to keep platforms robust and performant Data Management & Integration • Manage and optimise data structures for efficient storage and retrieval • Write complex SQL/PLSQL queries for data manipulation and analysis • Integrate data from multiple financial systems (e.g. core banking, ERP, treasury), ensuring consistency and data quality • Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver pragmatic solutions ETL Development (ODI) • Design, develop and maintain ETL processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) • Ensure data quality, consistency and integrity throughout the ETL pipeline • Tune and optimise ETL workflows for performance and scalability Business Intelligence (OAS/OBIEE) • Develop and maintain BI solutions using Oracle Analytics Server / OBIEE • Build interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations to support decision-making • Analyse data to generate meaningful insights and present findings to business stakeholders Banking & Accounting Focus • Apply knowledge of retail banking, treasury products and accounting to interpret data correctly • Help ensure adherence to banking industry standards and regulatory expectations Key Skills Required: • Strong understanding of core banking (ideally Oracle Flexcube) and Oracle ERP data structures and interfaces • Experience working with retail banking, treasury products and accounting/finance data • 5+ years’ experience with Oracle databases and data warehousing concepts, design and implementation • Strong hands-on skills in: • ODI ETL • OAS/OBIEE • PL/SQL & SQL • ER/data modelling and data modelling tools • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with complex data sets • Excellent problem-solving skills for data and integration issues • Clear, confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team Package & Benefits: Salary: £80,000 – £100,000 per annum Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 Holiday: 24 days per year • Life Assurance: 4x basic annual salary • Pension Scheme: Group Personal Pension (non-contributory) – the employer contributes 10% of basic salary, with automatic enrolment in the first complete month • Season Ticket Loan: Interest-free (limited to a six-month loan during probation) After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period: • Private Medical Insurance: Taxable benefit – premium paid by the employer • Income Protection: Provides 75% of basic salary in the event of long-term sickness • Personal Loan: Available with interest charged at 1% over base rate at the time of loan inception If you’re a hands-on Oracle data & BI specialist with solid banking experience and you enjoy shaping data platforms that the business truly relies on, we’d love to hear from you.
