Senior BI Developer – Construction Analytics/Data modeling Location: Remote work Job Type: Contract Duration: 12 Months+ About Us: We are a growing as a company committed to building the future through innovation and hard data. We partner with our project management teams and leadership to turn complex operational data—such as job costs, scheduling, and resource allocation—into powerful insights that drive smarter, real-time business decisions. Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer with elite data modeling skills to own our reporting architecture end-to-end. You are not just building dashboards; you are the bridge between raw, scattered data and strategic business logic. In this role, you will work closely with C-level executives, department heads, and on-the-ground business teams to design reporting solutions that align directly with corporate goals and project profitability. Key Responsibilities • Design and build highly efficient, scalable star-schema data models. Create complex measures and calculated columns using advanced DAX and Power Query (M) to ensure a single source of truth. • Partner directly with the business side and C-level executives to gather requirements, translate operational needs into technical specifications, and build visually compelling executive dashboards. • Data Integration (ETL): Extract, transform, and load data from multiple enterprise sources (e.g., ERP systems, CRM, SQL databases, and cloud platforms) into Power BI. • Ensure fast dashboard performance and reliability. Maintain data governance protocols, establish clear documentation, and ensure data integrity across all reporting layers • Business Translation: Clearly explain complex data definitions, limitations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to non-technical users. Qualifications • 8+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, specifically focusing on Power BI development, report architecture, and data warehousing. • Data Modeling Mastery: Strong theoretical knowledge and practical application of dimensional modeling (facts and dimensions), as well as complex DAX and SQL scripting. • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills. Proven ability to confidently present data and drive decision-making with C-suite executives. • Ability to link technical reality with business logic and construction industry dynamics. Preferred Qualifications: • Industry Experience: Direct experience in the construction or project-based industry (tracking job costs, WIP, equipment, or labor utilization). • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or Python for advanced data transformation
