Senior BI Developer

We are seeking a highly capable Senior BI Developer / Data Engineer with expertise in Qlik Cloud, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric Notebooks (SQL/Python), Azure SQL MI, Blob/OneLake, and strong cross-functional leadership skills. This contractor will serve as the primary bridge between IT and Sales, ensuring alignment on priorities and enabling both teams to execute effectively. A major component of this role includes training client IT team members on Qlik technologies. Responsibilities • Design, build, and optimize BI solutions using Qlik Cloud, Power BI, and Fabric Notebooks (SQL/Python). • Develop advanced data models and scalable datasets supporting Sales and IT analytics. • Create and optimize data pipelines using Azure SQL MI, Blob Storage, and OneLake. • Act as the liaison between IT and Sales, managing competing priorities and communication. • Train Client IT team members (currently Power BI–only) on Qlik Cloud development, governance, and best practices. • Manage Jira work intake and maintain technical documentation in Confluence. Required Skills & Experience • 7+ years BI development and/or data engineering experience. • Expertise with Qlik Cloud, Power BI, and Fabric Notebooks (SQL/Python). • Strong SQL and data modeling experience. • Experience with Azure SQL MI, Blob Storage, and OneLake. • Experience bridging IT and business teams with competing priorities. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Experience with Jira and Confluence. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting Sales or Commercial analytics teams. • Knowledge of governance and semantic modeling across Qlik/PBI/Fabric. • Experience with cloud migration or BI modernization initiatives. • Consulting or client-facing experience.
