We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to support our work with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), helping modernize its analytics ecosystem and accelerate Sentinel-driven product safety initiatives.
Position Overview
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Data Visualization) will design and deliver high-impact, user-centric dashboards and analytics solutions that transform complex data into actionable insights for executive and operational decision-making.
This role is central to enabling data-driven product safety analytics, supporting advanced AI/ML initiatives, and enhancing real-time visibility into hazard detection, enforcement targeting, and regulatory outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Power BI, strong data modeling capabilities, and a passion for data storytelling in cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI for executive and operational stakeholders.
• Apply advanced data storytelling techniques to communicate insights clearly and effectively.
• Optimize dashboards for usability, accessibility, and performance across platforms.
• Create enterprise-level dynamic, interactive visualizations that support both internal decision-making and public-facing transparency.
• Develop scalable and maintainable data models supporting complex analytical needs.
• Implement ETL processes integrating data from relational databases, data lakes, and warehouses.
• Apply best practices for data validation, lineage tracking, and documentation.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
• Translate business requirements into measurable BI solutions.
• Monitor and tune Power BI performance, including query optimization and resource management.
• Partner with data engineers, data scientists, architects, and mission stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data visualization roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in Power BI, including:
• Advanced data modeling
• DAX
• Report/dashboard development
• Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and transformation.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience designing dashboards for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with executive presentation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Fabric).
• Experience working in federal or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development environments.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
• Advanced Power BI or Microsoft certifications.
• Experience supporting AI/ML analytics initiatives.
Clearance: Minimum of a Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship is Required)
