Buyer III (Contract)

About the Role
Join a forward-thinking team focused on building scalable and standardized solutions across a rapidly expanding network. As a Buyer III, you will play a key role in driving procurement strategy and operational value for complex equipment and systems within a highly technical and fast-paced environment. This position partners closely with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to optimize sourcing, supplier performance, and long-term business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for equipment and components within complex systems (e.g., material handling, automation, or industrial equipment)
β’ Lead sourcing events, negotiate supplier contracts, and secure competitive pricing and terms
β’ Partner with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, and project teams) to align procurement strategies with business goals
β’ Manage supplier relationships, driving performance in quality, cost, innovation, and delivery
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally to support design optimization and engineering efficiencies
β’ Influence supplier roadmaps, technologies, and processes to align with organizational needs
β’ Lead and support complex procurement initiatives to drive cost savings and productivity improvements
β’ Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions
β’ Develop and track key metrics related to cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
β’ 7+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
β’ Strong experience with capital equipment, industrial automation, robotics, or similar complex categories
β’ Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage suppliers
β’ Experience building or improving procurement processes and supply agreements
β’ Cost modeling and strong analytical/data-driven decision-making skills
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
β’ Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in a fast-paced environment
β’ Experience with procurement tools (e-sourcing platforms, contract management systems)
β’ Experience collaborating with technical teams (engineering, product development, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience within material handling equipment (MHE) or industrial systems
β’ Familiarity with large-scale capital procurement environments
β’ Experience with data analytics or visualization tools
β’ Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, or similar)
