Role description
Job Title: Logistics & Inventory Data Specialist
Location: Bothell, WA (4 days/week onsite) — Local candidates only
Team: Operations & Logistics
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12-month contract (hourly pay + medical, dental, vision, sick time). If contracts extends beyond 12 months, in year two, role includes 4% matching 401(k).
About the Role
This role sits at the center of a growing global hardware operation, supporting end-to-end logistics, inventory planning, and data integrity for high-volume consumer hardware products. You’ll work on a lean, high-impact team that blends logistics, hardware operations, and finance—supporting a rapidly scaling hardware ecosystem.
This is a data-heavy position where accuracy, analytical rigor, and clear communication are essential. You’ll work with raw data, transforming it into reliable insights that drive inventory decisions, global freight planning, and future hardware launches.
Key Responsibilities
• Clean, validate, transform, and maintain transportation and logistics datasets used across supply planning, inventory analysis, and lead-time management.
• Identify data gaps or discrepancies and drive follow-up with internal teams and external logistics partners.
• Monitor global on-hand inventory relative to safety stock thresholds and recommend restock or rebalancing actions.
• Track risks across freight, warehousing, and vendor networks, including cost changes or customs-related impacts.
• Compile and maintain data feeding into finished-goods supply models, integrating demand forecasts, production schedules, and existing inventory.
• Update and refine operational reports and planning models.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and inventory workflows.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, or a quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in supply planning, logistics, inventory management, or data analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, modeling, pivoting, data transformation). Be ready to whiteboard at the interview!
• Strong analytical reasoning, with the ability to show mathematical proof and explain logic behind conclusions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with physical products / hardware supply chains (required).
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in consumer electronics, hardware operations, or physical-goods environments.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
• Light SQL familiarity (may be used after year one).
• Finance experience is a plus.
• Comfort working in lean, high-ownership, startup-style environments.
Why This Role Matters
This role directly supports global availability of major hardware products. You’ll help determine when to build and purchase additional units, maintain supply continuity across global warehouses, and prepare for upcoming launches. The work spans factories, freight, warehouses, supply planning, and operational finance—providing broad visibility and meaningful impact in a fast-growing hardware organization.
