Senior Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and delivery of advanced analytics solutions across multiple projects, ensuring outputs are scalable, robust, and aligned to business objectives. • Oversee the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and automated workflows, using modern visualisation platforms and data warehousing technologies (including SQL). • Define and implement data governance frameworks, including standards for data quality, security, compliance, and access controls. • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and senior stakeholders to shape data strategies, architecture, and reporting solutions. • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders, enabling confident, evidence-based decision-making through data-driven insights. • Lead and mentor analysts, supporting capability development and improving delivery standards across the team. • Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in analytics and visualisation. What You’ll Bring • Strong understanding of the full data lifecycle, including governance, quality assurance, validation, and stewardship. • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with data warehousing solutions for extraction, transformation, and analysis. • Proven expertise in data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau, including automation and scalable dashboard design. • Strong ability to interpret and communicate insights from complex datasets to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Demonstrable experience influencing technical decisions and leading analytics or reporting initiatives. • Strong leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching, and developing analysts in a collaborative environment. • A passion for best practice in visualisation, user experience, and the art of data storytelling. Essential Experience (Must Have) • Proven experience leading data modelling and dashboard design approaches that support future-proofed, portable, and reusable reporting solutions. • Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques, validation processes, and quality assurance practices. • Hands-on experience with data warehousing and structured reporting environments. • Experience operating within cloud-based or hybrid data environments. • Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and ethical considerations in analytics and reporting. • Ability to plan, structure, and manage work packages for yourself and others within a multi-disciplinary team. • Strong capability in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and translating business needs into technical delivery. • Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments and contributing to technical strategy and delivery standards. Desirable Experience • Degree in STEM, Data Science, or a related discipline, alongside relevant professional certifications (e.g. Power BI, Azure, AWS, Data Engineering, Analytics). • Experience using Python for data handling, automation, or analytics. • Exposure to machine learning techniques and advanced statistical modelling.
