Role description
Job Title: Senior Data Analyst – Healthcare Analytics / AI & ML Projects LOCATION PREFERENCE: VA, MD, WA-DC, NY, PA, NC, SC Key Responsibilities • Analyze healthcare data such as claims, enrollment, audit, and operational datasets. • Write, optimize, and validate complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics needs. • Support the development and maintenance of reporting tools and dashboards. • Assist with data validation, quality checks, issue investigation, and root-cause analysis. • Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data outputs. • Support analytics work related to machine learning and AI use cases. • Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, product teams, and business users. • Help analyze model outputs, trends, user behavior, and performance metrics where needed. • Support documentation of data logic, business rules, requirements, and reporting definitions. • Work in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift across reporting, analytics, AI, and ML workstreams. Required Skills & Experience • 6–8 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar role. • Strong hands-on experience with SQL. • Experience working with large datasets and complex data structures. • Background in the healthcare domain, preferably with claims, enrollment, provider, member, audit, or payer data. • Ability to understand business rules and translate them into data logic. • Experience creating reports, data extracts, dashboards, or audit-related analytics. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders. • Comfortable supporting multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills • Exposure to AWS tools such as S3, Lambda, SageMaker, Athena, Glue, Redshift, or similar cloud/data tools. • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or validation. • Experience supporting machine learning, predictive analytics, or AI-related projects. • Familiarity with generative AI or chatbot analytics is a plus. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, QuickSight, or similar.
