Role description
Senior Data Analyst – Finance 📍 Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite) We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with strong financial expertise to support operational reporting and forward-looking financial forecasting for the PPB business unit. This role partners closely with finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders to collect, structure, and analyze financial and operational data to support planning, reporting, and decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial modeling skills with hands-on experience working with structured and unstructured data. Experience leveraging AI and automation tools such as Microsoft Copilot to streamline workflows and improve analytical efficiency is highly valued. Key Responsibilities • Analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple systems to generate clear, actionable insights on performance versus plan. • Support financial planning and forecasting cycles by translating analytical findings into strategic recommendations. • Partner with finance teams and business stakeholders to gather, organize, and interpret financial and operational data. • Monitor capital and operating expenses versus plan, identifying variances, timing risks, and potential financial exposures. • Produce and maintain standard financial reports including P&L and Balance Sheet updates to support company-wide reporting processes. • Collaborate cross-functionally and globally across business units and regions to ensure accurate reporting and planning alignment. • Leverage automation and AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and analytical workflows. Required Qualifications • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles, including P&L and Balance Sheet analysis • Experience working with data analytics and data modeling • Experience handling structured and unstructured datasets • Proficiency with AI tools (especially Microsoft Copilot) and the ability to structure prompts for workflow automation • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking Preferred Qualifications • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling • Ability to translate data insights into actionable financial recommendations • Experience building dashboards or automated reporting solutions using data extraction, transformation, and visualization tools • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and automation workflows Soft Skills • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present analysis and insights • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams • Strong problem-solving mindset and business acumen
