Senior Data Analyst โ€“ Upstream Operations Location: Spring, TX (On-site) Duration: 12-Month Contract Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to support upstream operations within the energy sector. This role focuses on analyzing Drilling & Completions data to drive operational insights, improve reporting capabilities, and support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, data visualization tools, and handling large operational datasets within Oil & Gas environments. This position requires a self-driven professional capable of working independently while collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Import, cleanse, validate, and analyze large-scale upstream operational datasets โ€ข Interpret drilling and completions data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities โ€ข Design and develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Power BI and/or Spotfire โ€ข Present analytical findings through charts, graphs, reports, and stakeholder presentations โ€ข Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and continuous data quality improvements โ€ข Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions โ€ข Utilize advanced SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing structured datasets โ€ข Support analytics and data engineering workflows as needed โ€ข Communicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Required Qualifications โ€ข Strong experience working with Upstream Oil & Gas data, specifically Drilling & Completions datasets โ€ข Advanced SQL expertise โ€ข Hands-on experience with Power BI or Spotfire (experience with both is highly preferred) โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills โ€ข Experience creating reports, dashboards, and operational insights โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication skills โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Preferred Qualifications โ€ข Experience with Databricks and/or Python โ€ข Exposure to data engineering workflows or automation โ€ข Relevant certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or related technologies Additional Information โ€ข Senior-level contractor role requiring minimal supervision โ€ข Opportunity to work on large-scale operational data initiatives within a fast-paced environment โ€ข Candidates with strong business acumen and technical expertise are highly encouraged to apply If this is a role that interests you and youโ€™d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
