Title: Senior Data Analyst Location: Chicago IL, 60602 Work Enivornment: Remote OR Hybrid Duration: 5 months assignment with possibility of extension or conversion Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, 37.5 Hours/week Job Description: The Senior Data Analyst will support a large AML rule migration by testing the deployment of an additional system into the AML SAS Viya environment. This role is focused on business reporting and analytical judgment, not quantitative modeling or algorithm development. Key responsibilities include: • Executing and validating AML rules in SAS Viya • Comparing outputs against existing AML Transaction Monitoring rules • Investigating discrepancies down to record-level detail • Determining whether differences can be resolved or must be documented • Producing clear documentation explaining variances and logic changes • Communicating findings to stakeholders in clear, business-friendly language Must Have Requirement: 5–7 years of experience in Data Analytics or Business Reporting Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs) SAS experience (Base, DATA step, PROC SQL) or strong SQL with ability to adapt to SAS Proven experience interpreting results and explaining “why” differences exist Nice to Have: AML domain experience Financial services background Payments data experience (preferred): • Wires • SWIFT • Payments data more broadly Prior experience with system or rule migrations Familiarity with SAS Viya Python experience Soft Skills: Strong business acumen with the ability to translate ambiguity into clear requirements Curious and inquisitive, with strong problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with a data quality and validation mindset Clear, concise communicator who can present technical findings in business-friendly language Stakeholder-focused and collaborative team player Highlights of the role; why would someone choose this role over another? Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis? This role will interact with AML Transformation, Delivery & Insights team members, while having the ability to work with minimal oversight Line of Business: Financial Crime / AML What does the LOB do?: Supports AML transaction monitoring and compliance for payments data (wires and SWIFT) by developing, validating, and reconciling rule-based reporting. The team ensures migrated rules accurately replicate legacy system outputs, documents discrepancies, and supports regulatory and compliance objectives. Data Load Validation • Reconciling results at record level • Identifying and documenting discrepancies (e.g., data availability, date logic changes) • Refining SAS Viya logic to align new LOB data flows/products with existing AML Rule Typologies Defect identification, root cause analysis support, defect resolution tracking and testing • Producing final, well-documented reconciliation artifacts Sr. Data Analyst must support code development and possess strong SQL skills and Proc SQL (SAS). What project will this contractor be working on? Migrating from one system to another system, including validation, reconciliation, and documentation of business logic.
