Role description
As part of IPRO’s Managed Care Department, the Senior Data Analyst will perform complex analyses using advanced technical knowledge as well as interpret and provide written summaries of analysis output. The Senior Data Analyst will also be responsible for the identification and response to efficiency-promoting opportunities within the department. Duties to include but not limited to: Ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and face validity of all work. Representing department leadership on customer and client calls for specific areas of subject matter expertise. Demonstrating the ability to multitask and manage many simultaneous projects and last-minute emergencies to meet deadlines while still maintaining a strong attention to detail. Supporting continuous quality improvement. Contributes regularly to improving data and analytics sophistication and efficiency within the department and across the IPRO enterprise. Creating documentation (such as code detail, report specifications, narrative backup, and metadata) for all outputs. Reviews documentation produced by more junior analysts. Troubleshooting any data or performance issues with workbooks and data sources. Serving as resident expert on technology(ies); train and support department staff with its effective use as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates advanced expertise in healthcare data domains, including claims, encounters, eligibility, provider information, and electronic health records (EHR), with the ability to interpret and analyze complex datasets to drive actionable insight. Ability to solve complex business problems and opportunities through the design and development of efficient, high-quality and customer-centric analytic solutions. Ability to distill complex technical content and issues into audience-specific and layperson-friendly terms. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and client deliverables. Possesses stellar communications skills, both written and oral; able to produce effective written summaries outlining the results of complex analyses, with strong people skills with the ability to interact effectively with external customers. Demonstrates mastery in the following toolsets: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word. Experience with REDCap, SAS, strongly preferred. Familiarity with HEDIS, CMS Protocols or HIPAA encounter file formats strongly preferred. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, research or health-related field, required. Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, public health or related social science with course work including both statistical and process analysis, preferred. Two (2) years’ experience working in the health care field required or equivalent experience in an MCO, preferred. Will consider a Master’s degree in lieu of one (1) year of experience. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $75,000.00 – $85,000.00. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
