Role description
Seeking a Senior Data Architect / Senior Data Analyst to lead the analysis, redesign, and implementation of data models and data integration processes supporting this transition, with a strong focus on data quality, reporting, and cloud compatibility. Scope of Services β€’ Data Analysis and Impact Assessment β€’ Analyze and validate existing Work Program Datamart and General Ledger data models. β€’ Assess impacts resulting from Florida PALM Chart of Accounts and standardized business process changes. β€’ Identify dependencies on current accounting structures and determine required remediation. β€’ Conduct impact analysis on reports, applications, and downstream systems to ensure continuity of business operations. β€’ Data Model Design and Enhancement β€’ Design and document enhanced data models incorporating Florida PALM data elements. β€’ Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices. β€’ Support both current operational needs and future analytical and reporting requirements. β€’ ETL and Data Quality Improvement β€’ Review existing ETL processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. β€’ Design and implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. β€’ Support automated data refresh schedules (e.g., nightly, hourly, or ad hoc). β€’ Collaborate with development teams to streamline and modernize ETL workflows. β€’ Reporting and Data Visualization β€’ Provide best-practice guidance for financial data visualization and reporting. β€’ Ensure reporting frameworks remain compatible with updated data models. β€’ Support business users in effectively analyzing and interpreting financial data. β€’ Collaboration and Deployment β€’ Work closely with development teams to deploy updated data models and ETL processes. β€’ Validate implementations against functional and business requirements. β€’ Serve as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and OIT. β€’ Communicate system impacts, data changes, and timelines clearly and effectively. Deliverables β€’ Assessment report of current Work Program Datamart and General Ledger data models. β€’ Updated data model designs aligned with Florida PALM requirements. β€’ Documentation of ETL enhancements and data quality controls. β€’ Best-practice guidelines for data visualization and reporting. β€’ Implementation and deployment plan for revised data models. β€’ Regular status updates and presentations to stakeholders. Education β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. β€’ Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis. Experience β€’ 7+ years of experience with large, complex database management systems. β€’ 7+ years of experience as a data architect or senior data analyst. β€’ 10+ years of experience with DBMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2). β€’ Strong experience with financial data systems, data modeling, and data governance. β€’ Proven experience with ETL tools and data warehousing solutions. β€’ Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. β€’ Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake). Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with Informatica (Cloud Data Integration, Governance, or Catalog). β€’ Strong analytical and documentation skills. β€’ Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Experience supporting large-scale government or enterprise financial systems.
