Senior Data Architect & Engineer

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect & Engineer to support enterprise analytics and modern data platform initiatives. This is a client-facing role requiring strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, ELT pipeline development, data modeling, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading architecture discussions while also being hands-on with implementation and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & Strategy • Lead architecture workshops with Finance, IT, and Data stakeholders • Design scalable Snowflake data platforms and governance frameworks • Define ELT architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise data standards • Create technical documentation including: • Data flow diagrams • Architecture decision records • Technical design specifications • Establish enterprise metric definitions and governance standards Data Engineering & Development • Build and optimize Snowflake-based data warehouse solutions • Develop governed ELT pipelines using dbt or similar frameworks • Integrate ERP, CRM, FP&A, and enterprise operational systems • Design scalable dimensional and analytical data models • Optimize performance through: • Clustering strategies • Materialized views • Warehouse tuning • Compute efficiency improvements • Perform reconciliation and validation against source systems Client Engagement • Partner directly with client business and technical teams • Facilitate technical and business-facing working sessions • Translate architecture concepts into business outcomes • Independently manage delivery with minimal oversight Required Skills & Experience Core Technical Expertise • Strong Snowflake architecture and optimization experience • Advanced SQL development • Data modeling and dimensional modeling • dbt or equivalent ELT framework • Enterprise data warehouse architecture • Production-grade ELT pipeline development • Performance tuning and governance/security implementation Enterprise Integration Experience Experience integrating platforms such as: • NetSuite • Salesforce • SAP • Adaptive Planning • ERP / FP&A / Financial systems Architecture & Documentation • Architecture decision records (ADR) • Technical design documentation • Data flow diagrams • Integration architecture documentation Consulting & Communication • Strong client-facing communication skills • Experience leading architecture workshops • Ability to work with business and non-technical stakeholders • Independent consulting and delivery experience Preferred Qualifications • Workday Data Cloud • Prism Analytics • Workday Adaptive Planning • FP&A modernization initiatives • Finance data warehouse projects • Power BI, Tableau, or Strategy One • Experience working in consulting or multi-client environments
