Job Title: Sr. IT Solution Architect β Data & Information Architecture
Location: NEC (Northeast Corridor) - (Remote)

About Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Data Information Architect / Engineer to lead the design of a next-generation Labor Management information architecture. This role will modernize legacy systems (including mainframes) into a scalable, high-performance data ecosystem supporting real-time and batch workloads. You will define data models, pipelines, and enterprise standards for a major capital initiative in the transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and maintain the technical information architecture for a Labor Management Operations ecosystem (data in flight and at rest)
β’ Create standardized information and data models, including database schemas, event streams, and API contracts
β’ Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and technical requirements
β’ Analyze legacy systems (mainframe environment) to inform future-state models
β’ Build and maintain data transformation pipelines, including Change Data Capture (CDC) for near-real-time use cases
β’ Perform advanced database and query tuning; verify and maintain data integrity
β’ Review database designs and recommend enhancements
β’ Mentor teams in information technologies and best practices
β’ Establish policies for database management, security, maintenance, and utilization
β’ Contribute to enterprise Information Management standards
Must-Have Qualifications
β’ 15+ years of related IT experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology or related field
β’ Demonstrated experience in Information Architecture
β’ Demonstrated experience in Data Modeling (conceptual/logical/physical) and implementation
β’ Hands-on experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
β’ Domain experience in Data Management of Labor and Transportation systems (required)
β’ Rail industry experience (highly preferred)
β’ Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
β’ Masterβs degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
β’ Experience with streaming technologies: Kafka and Kafka Schema Registry
β’ Broad understanding of information architecture standards
β’ Expert-level advanced database programming techniques and systems design
β’ Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, middleware, and design
