Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake to Databricks Migration) We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead and execute a production-grade data migration from Snowflake to Databricks. This is a hands-on contract role for someone who has already done real migrations, understands the trade-offs involved, and can deliver independently without excessive guidance. This is not a learning role and not a support role. What you will work on • Own the end-to-end migration from Snowflake to Databricks • Review existing Snowflake data models, pipelines, queries, and workloads • Rebuild and optimize pipelines in Databricks using Spark, SQL, and Python • Handle performance tuning, cost considerations, and reliability post-migration • Ensure data accuracy and validation throughout the migration • Partner with stakeholders to minimize disruption to downstream consumers • Make pragmatic decisions and move fast in a production environment What we are looking for • Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer • Proven, hands-on experience migrating workloads from Snowflake to Databricks • Deep experience with Spark, SQL, and Python • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment • Experience owning delivery, not just contributing tickets If you have not led or materially owned a production data migration, this role will not be a fit.
