Senior Data Engineer

Senior Databricks Engineer Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Employment Type: Long-Term Contract Pay Rate: $75/hr W2 Build Modern Enterprise Data Platforms CornerStone Technology Talent Services is looking for an experienced Senior Databricks Engineer to help design, build, and optimize large-scale cloud data solutions for a complex enterprise environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise data initiatives using modern Lakehouse architecture, high-volume data pipelines, and cloud-based analytics. What You'll Do As a Senior Databricks Engineer, you will: • Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions using Databricks • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, PySpark, Python, or Scala • Build Lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) • Create reliable production data pipelines using Lakeflow Pipelines (formerly Delta Live Tables) • Schedule and manage production workloads using Lakeflow Jobs, Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools • Design dimensional data models for reporting and analytics • Develop Databricks SQL dashboards and analytical applications • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and performance across the platform • Tune Spark workloads for speed, scalability, and cost optimization • Work closely with business users, architects, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions • Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve platform performance • Participate in source control, CI/CD, testing, and deployment best practices Required Qualifications We're looking for someone with strong enterprise-level Databricks experience, including: • 8+ years of overall IT experience • 8+ years building data solutions with Databricks • Strong experience with: • Apache Spark • PySpark • Python or Scala • SQL • Experience building large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines • Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse Architecture • Experience implementing Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers • Experience building production pipelines using Lakeflow Pipelines (Delta Live Tables) • Experience scheduling and managing production jobs using Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or similar tools • Strong background in data warehousing and dimensional data modeling (Star & Snowflake schemas) • Experience implementing data governance, security, validation, and monitoring • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and business stakeholders • Ability to work independently in a hybrid Austin, TX environment Nice to Have • Databricks Data Engineer Certification • CI/CD experience for data engineering projects • Git version control • DevOps experience supporting Databricks environments • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, government, finance, or enterprise organizations Why Join CornerStone Technology Talent Services?
