We're looking for a Microsoft Fabric–focused Senior Data Engineer to join a public sector data transformation programme in the North East of England.
You'll be integrating contact centre platforms, CRM systems, and line-of-business applications into Microsoft Fabric, building bronze–silver–gold pipelines, and delivering Power BI reporting to support channel shift analysis and operational insight. As a Senior Consultant you'll also provide an element of technical leadership, helping to guide and develop less experienced engineers within the delivery team.
Key responsibilities:

• Building robust bronze–silver–gold data pipelines, implementing data matching and quality rules
• Optimising Lakehouse and semantic models for Power BI reporting
• Developing intuitive Power BI dashboards, enabling analysts to unlock meaningful operational insights
• Supporting channel shift analysis and delivering actionable operational insight to stakeholders
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring less experienced engineers within the delivery team
• Contributing to shared data engineering standards and documentation
• Working collaboratively within agile delivery teams
• Managing stakeholder relationships effectively across a complex organisation
Skills & experience:
• 7+ years' data engineering experience delivering integration, transformation, and visualisation solutions across complex organisations
• Expert-level Azure data engineering skills with cross-cloud AWS exposure
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience — Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and Semantic Models
• Proven experience integrating contact centre platforms (including AWS Connect) into Microsoft Fabric
• Experience integrating CRM systems and line-of-business applications into data platforms
• Bronze–silver–gold pipeline design, data matching, and quality rules implementation
• Power BI dashboard development — from data layer through to visualisation
• Ability to provide technical leadership and guide less experienced team members
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across complex organisational environments
• Comfortable working in agile delivery teams and contributing to engineering standards and documentation
• UK government or public sector experience preferred
Clearance & Compliance
