Senior Data Engineer (Financial Crimes / AML)

Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Data Engineer within Financial Crimes technology. The role involves developing complex requirements, and enhancing, modifying, or maintaining applications to meet business goals. The developer will design, code, test, debug, and document programs, while also providing insight and direction from a data perspective and assessing the impact on technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications within the Financial Crimes technology domain.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs and support application maintenance activities.
• Work with business partners to define requirements for system applications.
• Contribute to story refinement, define requirements, and estimate work for the delivery lifecycle.
• Set up and automate continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Handle technical aspects of the application, including change management, maintenance, and platform upgrades.
• Perform data sourcing, data analysis, and modeling to build innovative data provisioning models.
• Partner with business stakeholders to develop plans and facilitate the implementation of future-state approaches.
• Communicate deliverables and timelines to managers, peers, and business partners.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline.
Experience: Approximately 10+ years of applicable experience is required. This includes database-intensive development, data migrations, and conversions, along with experience in an Agile software development environment.
Technical Skills:
• Teradata 16.x, SQL/BTEQ scripting, and TPT.
• Informatica 10.x.
• UNIX Shell scripting and Autosys.
• Cloudera CDP and Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala).
• CI/CD tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
• SQL performance tuning.
• Data sourcing, data modeling, and data provisioning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Business knowledge in financial domains related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes.
• Experience with business engagement and requirement discovery.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $65.06 per hour.
