Founded by a team of passionate experts, EVOCS has grown into a trusted partner to a growing number of leaders across their respective industries. Our roots in employee-managed operations reflect our commitment to quality, consistency, and client success.
If you enjoy working in a hyper-fast-growing company, are eager to be part of an agile team, and want to be part of our success story, then letβs talk!
π― Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling the foundational data infrastructure that powers enterprise analytics, operational intelligence, compliance reporting, and cloud-native applications.
This role is heavily focused on backend data systems, ETL/ELT orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and scalable data platform engineering rather than front-end reporting or visualization work. Youβll work closely with engineering, analytics, and platform teams to architect robust and reliable systems capable of handling enterprise-scale workloads across modern cloud environments.
Weβre looking for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, building scalable systems from the ground up, and contributing to a fast-moving engineering culture focused on innovation, automation, and technical excellence.
𧩠What you will do
In this role, you will:
β’ Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise-grade data ingestion and transformation workflows.
β’ Architect and optimize relational and NoSQL database systems for high-performance operational and analytical workloads.
β’ Lead data migration initiatives from legacy or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms into modern cloud-native environments.
β’ Develop backend data services and transformation applications using Python and Node.js.
β’ Build and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments using containerized and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
β’ Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows for data platform services and infrastructure.
β’ Establish data quality, monitoring, alerting, and lineage processes across the data ecosystem.
β’ Collaborate with compliance, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
β’ Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture decisions, onboarding guides, and operational runbooks.
β’ Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence.
π§ What you will bring
Weβre looking for someone who has:
β’ 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
β’ 3+ years focused on Data Engineering, backend platform engineering, or large-scale data infrastructure.
β’ Strong Python expertise for ETL development, scripting, and data processing workflows.
β’ Advanced SQL and relational database experience, including schema design, optimization, and data modeling.
β’ Hands-on experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments.
β’ Strong experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, EC2, and RDS.
β’ Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments.
β’ Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tooling.
β’ Strong understanding of backend APIs and service-layer architecture using frameworks such as FastAPI or Express.
β’ Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
β’ Strong ownership mindset and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments.
Pay Range
$70 - $70 USD per hour
